Farm Focus: Back to School

This week we’re starting to harvest our Cal Red Peaches, one of our best selling and most delicious varieties of the season. The arrival of Cal Reds is perfectly timed for the Back to School season as families across the Bay Area prepare to get back into the swing of school. We are very lucky to have some wonderful schools host our CSA and we love getting to share our fruit with families this time of year.

We currently deliver to 9 wonderful schools ranging from pre-school and elementary all the way to middle schools. Families get to enjoy a convenient pick up site and access to delicious, healthy food. As thanks for hosting a pickup site, we donate a free box of fruit or 5% of box sales back to the school for fundraising. We also have the pleasure of sponsoring school gardens with seed donations. We especially love when students come out to the farms on field trips to see how an organic farm operates and to make a connection with the land their food comes from.

SF - Dogpatch @ Daily Driver

Toluma Farm Goat.JPG

Last year we were lucky enough to visit Toluma Farm & Tomales Farmstead Creamery in Marin to see their amazing regenerative dairy operation (and to meet their lovely goats!). We are so pleased to be working with them at their newest venture in SF: Daily Driver. This woodfire bagel shop and bakery is slated to be our newest CSA pick up site located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. Please help us by spreading the word to anybody you know who lives or works in the neighborhood.

Alamo Ace Hardware

There are few things we love more than a well stocked kitchen store and Alamo Ace Hardware really takes it to the next level. We can’t think of a better spot to pick up our CSA boxes each week so you can also grab anything you need to make the recipes of your dreams. The waitlist is open so let your friends in the Walnut Creek area know they too can enjoy our CSA.
