Recipe: Kumquats in Honey and Kumquat Tea

Kumquats are used in Chinese Medicine to help sore throats and coughs. Here are two easy ways to prepare the perfect Vitamin C booster for cold season!  

Kumquat Tea

INGREDIENTS:

2-3 Kumquats sliced or 2 tablespoons of Kumquats in Honey Hot water

METHOD: Put kumquats in mug and will with hot water. Let sit for a few minutes and then enjoy!

 

Kumquats in Preserved in Honey

Kumquat season is short so to preserve some for later in the eason use this recipe to set a few aside for later in the winter!

INGREDIENTS: 1 Cup honey 10-20 kumquats 2 sterilized 8 oz canning jars

METHOD: Slice the kumquat into 1/8" slices. In each jar, spoon in 2-3 tbsp of honey, then add about 1/4 of the sliced kumquat. Repeat this one more time, then finish with the rest of the honey. Repeat with the rest of the honey. Close the lids tightly and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours before use. It can be kept in a sealed jar in the fridge for 6 weeks.
