Recipe: Orange Sautéed Apples

Adapted from Mark Bittman for the New York Times


4 apples, thinly sliced

4 tablespoons butter

1 cup fresh cranberries

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon orange zest


Melt butter over medium heat. Add apples and cranberries; cover, turn the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Uncover, add in sugar and orange zest and cook, stirring, for another 10 minutes at medium-high heat.
